Tiger Summer – Sneak Preview

Agent Shan of the Federal Bureau of Shifter Affairs—a seasoned operative in matters of supernatural security, with over a decade of experience and numerous commendations in his service record—stared at his boss.

“Ghosts,” he said flatly.

Min-Seo shrugged, unwrapping another lollipop. “It could be ghosts. Even we don’t know everything that’s out there.”

“And these reported ghost sightings occurred at a…” Shan checked the file again, in the vain hope he might have somehow misread the location. “Summer camp.”

“Camp Thunderbird.” Min-Seo stuck the lollipop into her mouth, looking more like a kid playing dress-up than a senior secret agent in charge of maintaining shifter safety across five states. Somewhat indistinctly, she added, “Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten the place already.”

Shan had not forgotten the place. Unfortunately. He had, in fact, been trying very hard to forget it.

Or rather, to forget one specific person.

His monster stirred. He’d forced down enough protein to sustain an entire Olympic rowing team barely an hour ago, yet his guts twisted as if he hadn’t eaten for days. His stomach echoed his inner beast, letting out an embarrassingly loud growl.

Min-Seo raised her eyebrows. “Want a candy?”

Shan shook his head in a short, curt motion. There was only one thing that could satisfy this all-consuming hunger…and it wasn’t sugar.

He forced himself to focus on the open dossier rather than his cramping stomach. “To clarify. We’ve received reports of unusual, potentially paranormal activity.”

“Yep,” Min-Seo said around her lollipop.

“At a summer camp for shifter children.”

“Yep,” Min-Seo said again, cheerfully.

Shan gave her a level look through his sunglasses. “And you believe ghosts are the most plausible explanation?”

Are you looking forward to Tiger Summer?
